*Any FAQs on this page about Drawer Systems pertain to Legacy Drawer Systems. If you have any questions about New Drawer Systems, please contact us.
GENERAL QUESTIONS
WHAT DOES "WEATHERPROOF" MEAN?
New Drawer Systems: The new Drawer Systems have enhanced weatherproofing, but a tiny bit of Mother Nature's handiwork may still get in. Dust and really fine snow are persistent and insidious, but we have gone to great lengths to combat them with cabside and side closeouts to reduce dust and snow intrusion, and the new Stash Bin lids are waterproof. Your gear should stay dry, but still, try not to go too crazy with the high pressure wand at the carwash.
Legacy Drawer Systems: Our Legacy Drawer Systems are weatherproof, but you can still get some water in them (they don’t seal like Tupperware). Anything that is airborne, like mist, dust, or really fine particle snow can get in the drawers – usually in small amounts. In most cases the drawers will stay dry, but please use caution (e.g. car washes). Also, the four ammo cans are not waterproof, but you can drill drain holes in the bottoms if you wish.

WILL DECKED PRODUCTS AFFECT THE PAINT ON MY BED?
Anything you put in the back of your truck can scratch or wear the paint, including a Drawer System, Tool Box, or CargoGlide. DECKED products may blemish your paint and possibly even scratch it a little if grit gets underneath them. This is not typically an issue for our customers, and only light cosmetic damage can be expected, if any.
DO YOU OFFER FINANCING?

WHAT IS HDPE AND WHY DO YOU USE IT?
DECKED spent 18 months investigating materials that would work best for our Drawer System and Tool Box. We chose to use High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) to build our Drawer Systems and Tool Boxes due to its extremely durable composition and weatherproof nature. We add a UV enhancer to the HDPE in our Drawer Systems and Tool Boxes to protect them from the sun’s harmful rays. Our HDPE components are precision formed, meticulously engineered, and supported by a steel subframe – resulting in products that last long and work as hard as you do.
ARE DECKED PRODUCTS DANGEROUSLY FLAMMABLE?
No. DECKED products have been tested extensively and approved for health and safety standards. Our Drawer System, Tool Box, CargoGlide, and Accessories have passed the FVMVSS 302 flammability certifications.
This standard allows for a 102mm/sec burn rate and DECKED products passed at 32.6mm/sec. Our main material, HDPE, is self-extinguishing. However, lighting yourself on fire and crawling into a drawer is still not recommended.
WHERE CAN I FIND TECHNICAL SPECS?
WHERE'S THE TRACKING NUMBER FOR MY DRAWER SYSTEM, CARGOGLIDE, OR TOOL BOX?
Our LTL freight shippers are great at moving large, bulky shipments, but not always at providing tracking info. However, we are able to provide detailed shipping info for some freight orders. Check your order confirmation in your email inbox to see if tracking information is available. No signature or appointment is required for delivery.
COMPATIBILITY
WHAT TRUCK MODELS AND YEARS DO DECKED PRODUCTS FIT?
Please refer to our fitment guide: FITMENT GUIDE
WHY DON'T I SEE MY VEHICLE IN THE SELECTOR?
If you don't see your vehicle in our selector, it's because we do not make a DECKED product specifically for it.
Our engineers included the widest range of vehicles for each make / model / year and bed length possible to work within our systems specifications. DECKED cannot support the installation of a system into a vehicle for which it is not designed, and we do not do custom orders. Due to liability concerns, we cannot answer any questions for you on how to potentially modify an existing system to fit. Please remember any modifications made to an existing system will void its DECKED warranty.
DO DECKED PRODUCTS FIT MIDSIZE TRUCKS?
DECKED Drawer Systems fit midsize trucks including the Tacoma, Colorado, Canyon and Frontier in North America as well as for vehicles like the HiLux, Amarok, Navara and Ranger internationally. Each Drawer System is designed to custom fit your truck like a glove and is easily removed or reinstalled.
DECKED CargoGlides are compatible with midsize trucks.
DECKED Tool Boxes DO NOT fit midsize trucks.
Visit our product pages and select your vehicle for fitment confirmation, or reach out to our Customer Experience team.
Stay tuned on social media or sign up for our email newsletter for more information on new releases.
DO DECKED PRODUCTS FIT MY EXTENDED VAN?
DECKED Drawer Systems DO NOT fit most extended vans. With the extended body, the Drawer System sits too far forward of the rear door opening and it was not ergonomically feasible, especially in regard to Sprinter vans.
The DECKED Tool Box and DECKED CargoGlide are not compatible with extended vans.
We do fit the Econoline EXT with a 138" wheelbase.
DO DECKED PRODUCTS FIT IN MY VAN (TRANSIT, SPRINTER, ETC.) WITH DUAL REAR WHEELS?
The Drawer System WILL NOT FIT extended vans or Transit vans with dual rear wheels. The dual rear wheels will protrude inbound into the space where our drawers reside.
The Tool Box and CargoGlide WILL NOT FIT extended vans or Transit vans with dual rear wheels.
ARE DECKED PRODUCTS COMPATIBLE WITH AN 8’ PICKUP BED?
You know it, chairman!
Drawer Systems: We use our 75.25" long "standard" length Drawer System engineered to fit an 8' bed. Once installed, there will be between 17" and 20" of space cab-side where you can fit a Tool Box or a fuel transfer tank. Read more about this fitment and compatible products.
The Tool Box and the CargoGlide are compatible with 8’ beds. Select your vehicle on our Drawer System page to find a product that fits your 8’ bed.
ARE DECKED PRODUCTS COMPATIBLE WITH SUVS OR JEEPS?
Not at this time. We have added these ideas to our product review process. We do make a Drawer System for Jeep Gladiators. Find it on our Drawer System page.
ARE DECKED PRODUCTS COMPATIBLE WITH THE DODGE RAMBOX CARGO MANAGEMENT SYSTEM?
Our Drawer System fits the RamBox. Check it out here: DECKED DRAWER SYSTEM FOR RAMBOX
The Tool Box and CargoGlide are NOT COMPATIBLE with the Dodge RamBox.
ARE DECKED PRODUCTS COMPATIBLE WITH THE CHEVY AVALANCHE?
No. The Chevy Avalanche’s bed dimensions DO NOT accommodate the Drawer System, Tool Box, or CargoGlide.
WILL MY SPRAY-IN BED LINER CAUSE A PROBLEM?
Nope, you can use a Drawer System, Tool Box, and CargoGlide with your spray-in bed liner. We have taken into account the normal additional volume and created enough lateral space to accommodate a spray-in liner (unless your installer went crazy with the amount of material they added to your truck bed) you should be fine.
Note: some of our Drawer Systems require that you replace the factory tie-down brackets. You will need to heat up the spray-in material, cut around the tie-down bracket, and then peel the spray-in material away. It is recommended that you use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the spray-in material. Once you have removed the bracket, you can install the new bracket that comes with your Drawer System.
CAN I KEEP MY PLASTIC DROP-IN BED LINER?
Plastic drop-in bed liners are NOT compatible with the Drawer System or CargoGlide, but can stay in your truck with a Tool Box.
ARE DECKED PRODUCTS COMPATIBLE WITH BED RUGS?
Both the Legacy and new Drawer Systems are not compatible with a Bed Rug mat. The Tool Box is compatible with a Bed Rug mat.
ARE DECKED PRODUCTS COMPATIBLE WITH GUN RACKS?
Drawer Systems are compatible with gun racks like Kolpin, but we recommend taking a look at our Piecekeepers gun holders first.
The Tool Box and CargoGlide are not compatible with Gun Racks.
ARE DECKED PRODUCTS COMPATIBLE WITH A FIFTH WHEEL, GOOSENECK, OR RAM TOWING PACKAGE?
The towing package on the RAM 2500 and 3500 is NOT compatible with a Drawer System. The lighting harness protrudes too far into the bed and interferes with the tailgate ammo can placement. The RAM 1500 IS compatible with a Drawer System.
Other towing packages such as a fifth wheel, or gooseneck are also NOT compatible with Drawer Systems.
DECKED CargoGlide is NOT compatible with a fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer.
The DECKED Tool Box is compatible with fifth-wheels and goosenecks as long as there is critical clearance for the Tool Box.
It is critical that any Gooseneck or Fifth Wheel has at least 24" depth and 6" height clearance to accommodate the DECKED Tool Box. The Tool Box is 6" in height above the bedrails and takes up 24" between the cab side bed wall and the edge of the Tool Box (including a 2" gap to clear any backup camera). NOTE: If your trailer swings wide while turning, make sure there is extra clearance as needed to avoid hitting the Tool Box on a tight turn.
ARE DECKED PRODUCTS COMPATIBLE WITH A SIDE MOUNT TOOLBOX?
The Tool Box and CargoGlide are NOT compatible with side-mount toolboxes.
Drawer Systems are compatible with certain side-mount toolboxes that clamp to the bed rail and do not require modifying your Drawer System. You will need to measure your truck and find a toolbox that would allow the system clearance. Many side mount toolboxes have legs that rest on the bed of the truck to support the box. You will need to look for a box with a "C" dimension which would rest the box on the system. This dimension would need to be equal to the measurement of the bedrail to the floor minus the height of the Drawer System (12").
CAN I ACCESS THE STORAGE COMPARTMENT AND/OR OUTLET IN A TACOMA WITH DECKED PRODUCTS?
New Drawer Systems: All outlets are accessible with the new Drawer Systems.
Legacy Drawer Systems: If you have a Legacy Drawer System in your Tacoma, access to the outlet and both storage compartments will be compromised.
You may remove the storage compartment doors for limited access. The use is compromised, but hey, life ain't always fair, right?! NOTE: you must do this before you install the Drawer System into your Tacoma.
The power outlet can still be used if you insert a flathead pigtail extension cord BEFORE you install the decks. Make sure to have the outlet capped to keep water out. A low-profile pigtail such as the one shown in this image. One can install a weatherproof cover over the female end of the pigtail when not in use.
CAN I ACCESS THE OUTLET AND/OR BED LIGHTS IN MY JEEP GLADIATOR WITH A DECKED PRODUCTS INSTALLED?
The Tool Box and CargoGlide are NOT compatible with Jeep Gladiators.
New Drawer Systems: If you install a new Drawer System into your Jeep Gladiator, you will have complete access to your outlet.
Legacy Drawer Systems: If you install a Legacy Drawer System into your Jeep Gladiator, your access to the outlet will be compromised. The power outlet can still be used if you insert a flat head pigtail extension cord BEFORE you install the decks. Make sure to have the outlet capped to keep water out. A low-profile pigtail such as one like this will work. See images below. One can install a weatherproof cover over the female end of the pigtail when not in use. Modifications may need to be made to the outlet cover, or the cover removed entirely before installation.
The bed lights will mostly be obscured [circled in red below].
ARE DECKED PRODUCTS COMPATIBLE WITH RETRACTABLE TONNEAU COVERS?
The Tool Box is compatible with select Tonneau Covers that can be installed behind the Tool Box tub. We highly suggest that you take measurements to confirm your retractable Tonneau Cover will be compatible.
CargoGlide is compatible with retractable Tonneau Covers so long as it provides clearance for the depth of your CargoGlide. We suggest you calculate the measurements to make sure that you will have enough space between the top of your CargoGlide and the Tonneau Cover for the items you want to put in your bed.
The Drawer System sits 12" high installed. In order for a retractable Tonneau Cover to work with our Drawer System, you will need to make sure you have enough room between the top of the deck and the bottom-most part of the canister. This distance could be different for each vehicle so you will need to measure what space will be available. We are confident the Retrax EQ is compatible with Drawer Systems as well as all Roll-N-Lock Covers. If you have found any other brands that work with DECKED please let us know at service@decked.com!
ARE DECKED PRODUCTS COMPATIBLE WITH THE GMC MULTIPRO TAILGATE ASSIST HANDLE?
The Drawer System and CargoGlide are NOT compatible with the GMC Multipro Tailgate Assist Handle. It needs to be removed prior to installation.
The GMC Multipro Tailgate Assist Handle will not interfere with the Tool Box, so it is compatible.
ARE DECKED PRODUCTS COMPATIBLE WITH A FLARESIDE OR STEPSIDE BED?
The Drawer System and CargoGlide are NOT compatible with Flareside or Stepside beds.
Ford: They will not fit the four-door short bed (5′ 6″) Ford F-150 SuperCrew made from 2001 through 2003 or similarly sized truck in 2004-2009 badged as the SuperCrew Heritage. The bed dimensions are just too small with the rounded tailgate.
GM: DECKED Drawer Systems and CargoGlides will not fit GM 1500 trucks with 6'6" Stepside beds or similar. Stepside/Flareside bed dimensions are too narrow and do not accommodate these products.
The Flareside or Stepside bed will not interfere with the Tool Box, so it is compatible.
ARE DECKED PRODUCTS COMPATIBLE WITH THE 2021 FORD F-150 (RAPTOR AND LIGHTNING) PRO POWER ONBOARD ELECTRICAL GENERATOR SYSTEM?
Ford offers a Pro Power Onboard electrical generator system as an add-on option for the F150 (Raptor and Lightning).
New Drawer Systems: Yes! Plug that blender in and go hog wild. Example of power accessibility.
Legacy Drawer Systems: DECKED produced a specialized Drawer System to maximize compatibility with the new Pro Power Onboard electrical generator. These Systems have distinct part numbers, so be sure to select the appropriate BODY STYLE:
The DECKED DF8 (5'6" bed length) and DF9 (6'6" bed length) Drawer Systems do not have tailgate side ammo cans so you can access the electrical panel!
ARE DECKED PRODUCTS WITH THE NEW 2021 TUNDRA AND TACOMA TRAIL EDITION WITH THE INSULATED STORAGE?
The Drawer System DOES NOT fit the 2021 Trail Special Edition with the driver's side insulated storage in the truck bed for Tacoma or Tundra.
ARE DECKED PRODUCTS COMPATIBLE WITH LEITNER DESIGN BED RACKS?
Our Drawer Systems are compatible with Leitner racks for all vehicles (including Toyota Tacoma) and their bed floor-mounted supports. For more info visit www.leitnerdesigns.com/
ON MY FORD TRUCK I HAVE THE TAILGATE STEP AND HANDLE, WILL THESE GET IN THE WAY OF MY DRAWER SYSTEM?
An F-150 with model year 2014 or earlier and a Super Duty (F250 or F350) with model year 2016 or earlier with the factory step have a bump on the driver’s side of the open tailgate, which will interfere with the opening of the drawer on that side. The 2015 - current F150 and 2017 - current F250/F350 models have the improved step and do not have a bump on the tailgate and will not impact the installation or use of your Drawer System.
There are three possibilities for a successful installation:
1) If you already have a spray-in liner, your Drawer System may reside high enough so that the drawer clears the handle.
2) You can purchase cable extenders to offset the ramp angle of your tailgate. We have not tested this product, but here are some more details so you can see if this will work for your needs. Hope this helps! Rider Tailgate Accessories has developed an innovative new truck accessory called the Tailgate Lowering Links which, when added to the existing tailgate support cables on a truck, allow the tailgate to lay flat.
For example, the tailgate on a 2013 Ford Super Duty is about 1.5 inches higher than the bed. With the Rider Tailgate accessory, model FD1, the Links allow the tailgate to lay flat or about 1.5 inches lower than the level of the bed.
Rider Tailgate Links are constructed to allow the tailgate to be lowered without the tailgate contacting the bumper. The amount of tailgate drop varies from 3 to 5.25 inches depending on the truck. This patented product is the only product on the market that lets consumers lower, and use, their tailgate in a position that is lower than the conventional open position. Rider Tailgate Lowering Links are engineered for strength and performance. To learn more about this innovative patented product or to see what other truck models they fit, call 801-678-1405. Check out this blog post for suggestions on how to change the ramp angle of your tailgate: BLOG POST.
3) You can easily remove the handle and purchase the following Ford part(s) to cover up the opening where the handle resides:
F150 – AL3Z 99000A38 EB. Retail – $64.29 F250 – AC3Z 99000A38 AA. Retail – $64.29
F150 Platinum: If you have the Platinum version (prior to 2015 – non-aluminum) of the F150 and the tailgate step, using the tailgate extenders can result in the Platinum plate hitting the bumper and marring the plate. Removing the handle may be a better option for this application.
ARE DECKED PRODUCTS COMPATIBLE WITH THE GMC DENALI CARBON PRO BED?
Due to the rarity of the Carbon Pro bed, we have not designed any compatible products for this option. We cannot provide fitment advice for our Drawer System, Tool Box, or Cargo Glide systems for this bed type.

DO I NEED TO DRILL ANY HOLES TO INSTALL A DRAWER SYSTEM IN MY VEHICLE?
Full-size trucks require no drilling to install a Drawer System. We have designed and engineered the Drawer System to utilize your full-size truck’s existing tie-downs. Trucks with 8' beds do require drilling on the cab side of the bed.
Some midsize trucks and vans may require a small amount of drilling to install depending on the make, model and year. In every case it is only a minor amount (4-6 holes) and our instructions offer clear guidance as to how do this properly.
HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED TO INSTALL NEW TIE-DOWN MOUNTS ON MY TRUCK?
New Drawer Systems: You will need to install new tie-down mounts if you have a Ranger, Colorado/Canyon, Tacoma, or Frontier.
All 8' Drawer Systems will require the installation of new tie-down mounts.
All short bed F150s and Toyota Tundras require the installation of new tie-down mounts. Ford Super Duty trucks except 2017-Current require the installation of new tie-down mounts.
Some cargo van systems also require installing DECKED tie-down mounts.
Legacy Drawer Systems: All midsize Drawer Systems except the Colorado/Canyon will require the installation of new tie-down mounts.
All 8' Drawer Systems will require the installation of new tie-down mounts.
If you own a newer short-bed Ford F-150 or a Ford Super Duty or a Toyota Tundra you will need to remove your factory tie-downs and replace them with the hardware we have included with your Drawer System. The Fords require changing out the cab side tie-downs only. The Tundra requires that all four be swapped out.
Some cargo van systems also require installing DECKED tie-down mounts.

NEW DRAWER SYSTEM
IS THERE A CONVERSION KIT TO MAKE THE LEGACY DRAWER SYSTEM SIMILAR TO THE NEW DRAWER SYSTEM?
Unfortunately, that is not possible. Due to some major differences in design, there is not enough compatibility between Legacy and new Drawer Systems to make a conversion kit work.
CAN I PUT THE NEW DRAWERS IN THE LEGACY DRAWER SYSTEM?
Our new drawers are pretty awesome. They are also shaped a lot differently than our awesome older drawers, so they won't fit in old systems. That'd be the kind of serious square peg into triangular hole kind of smashing that no amount of hammering would make possible.
CAN I PUT THE NEW ACCESSORIES IN MY LEGACY DRAWER SYSTEM?
New accessories are shaped to fit perfectly in our New Drawer Systems. Unfortunately, this means that they are different enough in shape and dimension that they are not compatible with old drawers. Older accessories can fit in new drawers, but will slide around and not be as effective in use of space.
Shop our new accessories.
Shop our legacy accessories.
IS THERE A TRADE-IN PROGRAM?
Sorry, pardner. We can't take trade-ins. Let that sweet old Legacy Drawer System find a new home in your buddy's truck, make his life a little better, then come see us about a new one.
WHAT IS NEW FOR SYSTEMS?
What is new? A whole lot. More than we can answer in this here little dialog box. Check this page out for the full skinny: https://decked.com/pages/drawers-compare
WHAT IS A MIDSIZE TRUCK?
They may not be as small as they used to be, but in our dictionary, we categorize the following trucks as Midsized: Ford Ranger, Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon, Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Frontier, and Jeep Gladiator
WHY CAN'T I FIND THE SINGLE DRAWER FOR MY FULL-SIZE TRUCK?
The Midsize specific mega drawer is a mighty ingenious setup that has been designed specifically around the payload capacity and bed dimensions of Midsize trucks. For Full-size trucks, take a look at our Full-size, double Drawer Systems.
DO YOU STILL MAKE A TWO DRAWER SYSTEM?
We sure do! The Full-size Drawer System fits your Full-size truck perfectly, and features two big beautiful drawers that are each capable of carrying around 200 pounds of your world.
DO YOU STILL SELL LEGACY DRAWER SYSTEMS AND LEGACY DRAWER SYSTEM ACCESSORES?
We no longer sell our Legacy Drawer System. However, you can still buy accessories for your Legacy Drawer System. We also have replacement parts set aside for Legacy Drawer Systems, available under Replacement Parts, and we will continue to offer those for as long as we have inventory.
HOW MUCH WEIGHT CAN I PUT ON THE NEW DRAWER SYSTEM? WHAT ARE ITS WEIGHT LIMITATIONS?
The new Drawer System can hold up to 2,000 lbs, distributed evenly.
DECKED can withstand a load rating of up to 50 lbs per square foot, so if you have something heavy to carry, please put a piece of plywood down first. Use common sense. If it's heavy, SPREAD THE LOAD.
HOW WEATHERPROOF IS THE NEW DRAWER SYSTEM?
The new Drawer Systems have enhanced weatherproofing and offer robust protection from the elements, but a tiny bit of Mother Nature's handiwork may still get in. Cabside and Side Closeout panels reduce dust and snow intrusion through reduction of swirling air, and the new Stash Bin lids are waterproof. Your gear should stay dry and cozy.
HOW FAR DO THE DRAWERS EXTEND ON THE NEW DRAWER SYSTEM?
Drawer Systems for Full-size short trucks extend 43".
Drawer Systems for Full-size long trucks extend 54".
Drawer Systems for Midsize short trucks extend 38".
Drawer Systems for Midsize long trucks extend 50".
WHAT IS THE HEIGHT OF THE DRAWER SYSTEM AND HOW MUCH VERTICAL SPACE DOES IT TAKE IN YOUR BED?
The new DECKED Drawer System measures 12 inches in height (from the bottom of your truck bed to the top of the system). If you want to find out how much bed depth you will have in your truck bed after installing a Drawer System, measure the depth of your bed and subtract 12 inches.
LEGACY DRAWER SYSTEM
HOW MUCH WEIGHT CAN I PUT ON THE DRAWER SYSTEM? WHAT ARE ITS WEIGHT LIMITATIONS?
The Drawer System can hold a load of up to 2000 lb, distributed evenly.
DECKED can withstand a load rating of up to 50 lbs per square foot, so if you have something heavy to carry, please put a piece of plywood down first. Use common sense. If it's heavy, SPREAD THE LOAD.
The Drawer System's load rating is designed for a “real world” 2000 lb. What does this mean? If you hit a pothole or bump, you will significantly increase the stress on your System for a moment in time – and the system is built to handle that. That being said, if your load is not evenly distributed you can overburden your system. For instance, if you place 2000 lb on a 4′ x 4′ pallet on your Drawer System, the loading per square foot is roughly double what our system is designed to handle. There’s nothing magical here, just good engineering and known limits.
If you plan to place concentrated and/or very heavy loads on your Drawer System, we highly suggest you add a thick piece of plywood to spread the load over a larger area.
NOTE: Make sure to place a piece of 3/4" plywood under ATV to avoid long-term damage.
HOW WATERPROOF IS THE DRAWER SYSTEM?
The drawers in a Drawer System are not sealed tight like a Tupperware lid, so some airborne particulates (dust and fine particle snow), can get in, although not in substantial quantities. This isn’t a common occurrence but it can happen. You will get more airborne particulates in your drawers if you don’t have a tailgate or your tailgate is down. Lastly, if you don’t install the weatherstrips on the drawers this condition will be worse.
ARE THE AMMO CANS WATERPROOF?
The Ammo Cans on a Drawer System are structural elements that are located in each corner of the Drawer System and act as secondary storage bins. They are not waterproof. There are dimples in the bottom of each ammo can that allow you to drill drain holes if you would like to provide a draining system. DO NOT put items that can't get wet in the ammo cans. They are the perfect place for items like ratchet straps, chains, road safety triangles, or items you need easy access to and can handle a little moisture.
HOW EASY IS IT TO PUNCTURE THE DRAWER SYSTEM?
You can puncture the Drawer System "deck" if you drop really heavy (50+ lbs.) or pointy objects from a heigh of 3 feet or more. Basically, anything that would cause your truck’s bed to get bent or punctured may puncture the deck. No normal use will cause the Drawer System to get punctured. The HPDE and steel used to build our Drawer Systems are incredibly strong materials and can withstand the typical wear and tear of a work truck.
DO THE DRAWERS ON A DRAWER SYSTEM RUB ON THE TAILGATE?
No and yes. No in normal use cases but yes if the drawers are loaded >100 Lbs each (and depending on the ramp angle of your tailgate). The drawers are pretty stout and they can easily handle 200 lbs each, but the bottoms of the drawers will sag slightly under big loads.
HOW FAR THE DO THE DRAWERS EXTEND ON A DRAWER SYSTEM?
The drawers on a Drawer System are designed to accommodate 200 lbs each. When a drawer is fully extended, it places a large/leveraged load upwards onto the deck. We chose a compromise that limits the extension but still minimized the height of the Drawer System itself. This also allowed for a taller drawer.
Drawer Systems for full-size trucks extend 42".
Drawer Systems for midsize trucks extend 36".
If you are experiencing less extension than listed above, you have your tailgate ammo cans switched with the cabside ammo cans. Contact Customer Service at service@decked.com for instructions on how to correct this problem.
WILL THE METAL BITS IN THE DRAWER SYSTEM RUST?
In the long term... yes. The topside hardware and all the metal parts of the Drawer System are either coated with rust inhibitors or are made of stainless steel. That means that all these parts will rust slower, but they’ll still rust over long periods of time. We’ve used rust inhibitors that are beyond OEM specs, but you can't stop nature from doing its thing. The stainless steel will also rust even though it’s not supposed to.
CAN I GO THROUGH A CAR WASH WITH MY DRAWER SYSTEM?
Drawer Systems are not sealed air-tight. Mist and dust are airborne and can get into the drawers. Car washes won't hurt your Drawer System, but the high pressure creates a lot of mist. Make sure to close your drawers completely and remove ammo can lids before using a car wash.
WHAT IS THE HEIGHT OF THE DRAWER SYSTEM AND HOW MUCH VERTICAL SPACE DOES IT TAKE IN YOUR BED?
The DECKED Drawer System measures 12 inches in height (from the bottom of your truck bed to the top of the system). If you want to find out how much bed depth you will have in your truck bed after installing a Drawer System, measure the depth of your bed and subtract 12 inches.
WHAT ARE THE DRAWER SYSTEM'S MEASUREMENTS?
IS THE ALUMINUM F-150 LIGHT SWITCH COMPATIBLE WITH A DRAWER SYSTEM?
The bed lights on the new aluminum F-150 reside above the Drawer System.
The switch for the bed lights located on the left (driver’s side) bed wall do reside beneath the Drawer System; however, it is accessible by reaching to the left side of the ammo can in that location. You can trigger the switch here, or you can turn on and off with the switch located in the cab of your truck.
The box cleat system on the F150 also resides above the Drawer System surface, however the ramp option for this system cannot be used in conjunction with a Drawer System.
IS THE DRAWER SYSTEM COMPATIBLE WITH BEDSLIDE?
Although we recommend our CargoGlide product line, we are also compatible with certain Bedslide SKUs. Check out the instructions below.
BEDSLIDE Install:
PURCHASE INSTALL KIT HERE: BEDSLIDE.COM/DECKED
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS HERE: BEDSLIDE x DECKED INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Your DECKED warranty will be void with any alterations to the system including installing/mounting any slide systems.
*It is important to note that we are not affiliated with Bedslide, and therefore not responsible for integration and harmony with their products. Please contact Bedslide directly for confirmation on product compatibility, specs and model numbers. BEDSLIDE.COM
WILL THE DRAWER SYSTEM WORK WITH MY TACOMA / TUNDRA BED LIGHTING KIT?
PLEASE NOTE: Some Tacoma/Tundra's come with aftermarket bed lighting kits. Light modification of your Drawer System may be required if you have this option. A small sliver of the deck may need to be cut away or shaved down (using a keyhole saw or surform) to create space for your lights.
IS THE DRAWER SYSTEM COMPATIBLE WITH THE RAM TRX OPTIONAL BED MOUNTED SPARE TIRE?
No. The DECKED drawer system is not compatible with the optional bed mounted spare tire for the new RAM TRX launched in 2021.
DOES THE DECKED DRAWER SYSTEM AND OR CARGOGLIDE FIT MY 2002 CHEVY PRO-TEC BED?
No.
In 2002, Chevy produced trucks with a composite bed called the 1500 Pro-Tec bed. The DECKED Drawer System and CargoGlide will NOT fit this bed.
HOW TALL IS A DRAWER SYSTEM?
DECKED is 12" in total height. See all technical specs here:
WHAT ARE DRAWER SYSTEMS MADE OF?
Our Drawer Systems are made of 100% recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE) that rests on a sub frame made of ~40 pounds of steel. This combination of materials allows the Drawer System to provide a 2000 LB payload rating.
WHAT DOES A 2000 LB LOAD RATING MEAN?
The Drawer System can hold a load of 2000 lb, distributed evenly. The load rating is designed for a “real world” 2000 lb. What does that mean? If you hit a pothole or bump, you will significantly increase the stress on your Drawer System for a moment in time – and the system is built to handle that.
HOW MUCH DOES THE DRAWER SYSTEM WEIGH?
Our Drawer Systems weigh between 200 lbs - 230 lbs depending on the system.
HOW MUCH WEIGHT CAN I PUT ON A DRAWER SYSTEM?
The Drawer System has a true 2,000 LB load rating for full-size trucks. A Drawer System can handle just about anything your factory truck bed can withstand. That being said, this isn’t a license to shut off your brain. If you drop a 2,000 LB cannonball on the deck it will damage it, just like it would wreck your truck bed.
NOTE: If you have a heavy, footed, or wheeled load, place a piece of plywood underneath to distribute the load.
I NOTICED THAT THE SPACING AROUND MY DRAWER SYSTEM IS NOT CONSISTENT. WHY NOT?
The Drawer System is precision-engineered to match the as-designed geometry & dimensions of your truck. Unfortunately, truck beds aren’t manufactured perfectly. They vary from left to right, and the bed is usually not perfectly flat. If you center your Drawer System perfectly on the center rib (or trough) of your truck bed, and there is variation in the deck-edge gap, then that’s just cuz’ your bed isn’t square.
CAN I LOAD AN ATV ON THE DRAWER SYSTEM?
Yes, the Drawer System can handle a true 2000 LB payload so feel free to load up that ATV, snowmobile, or moto. For loading an ATV or other 4 wheeled items, we’ve found that these Titan ramps work great with the DECKED system. Or for a motorcycle try this Titan ramp.
NOTE: Make sure to place a piece of 3/4" plywood under ATV to avoid long-term effects.
I HAVE A 2004 F-150, I NOTICED THAT IN YOUR PRODUCT LIST THAT TWO 2004 F150’S SHOW UP. HOW DO I KNOW WHICH F150 I HAVE AND WHICH DRAWER SYSTEM FITS MY TRUCK?
2004 was a transition year for Ford and as such they produced old and new body styles in the 2004 model year with a 6’6″ bed length. So, for a time, both body types were being sold as 2004 models.
If you do NOT have a stepped down passenger and driver side door windows, you have the older F-150, or “Heritage” version. If this is the case, select the Drawer System F-150 1997-2004 Heritage edition.
If you have the “step down” side windows (see image below) you have the “new” 2004 version thus you will select the Drawer System F-150 2004-current, bed length 5’6″ or 6’6″.
NOTE: The Drawer System DOES NOT fit the full-size four-door short bed (5’6″) Ford F-150 SuperCrew made from 2001 through 2003 or the similar sized truck in 2004 badged as the SuperCrew Heritage. The bed dimensions are just too small with the rounded tailgate. If you have any questions please give us a call so we can make sure you order the correct DECKED system.
IS IT OK TO ATTACH RATCHET STRAPS OR OTHER TIE DOWNS TO THE EDGES OF THE DECK PANELS OR INTO THE AMMO CAN HOLES?
No. No strap or tie-down of any kind is compatible with the edge of the deck panels or the Ammo Can holes. These points were not designed for ratchet straps or other tie-downs. It can result in the edge of the panel or other deck pieces breaking off.
CAN I INSTALL A YAKIMA OR THULE RACK ON MY DRAWER SYSTEM?
Yes! If you are looking to permanently mount tracks that provide a strong, low-profile attachment point for Yakima or Thule rack systems, we have you covered. Our T-Track 6063 T5 aluminum alloy, is anodized clear and will fit a Drawer System. The track length is 48″ (for 5’5″ truck beds) or 58″ long (for 6’6″ truck beds), 1 5/8″ wide and .45″ tall, and can be oriented towards the cab side or tailgate side of your truck bed. These T-tracks have been custom manufactured to align with the steel tubes in your Drawer System. Each set of T-tracks comes with two tracks and stainless steel mounting screws.
You will need:
DECKED T-tracks: 48″ T-Tracks for full -size short beds
(OR) 58″ T-tracks for full-size standard beds
A set of Landing Pad 1
A set of four Control Towers
Plus whatever array of Yakima stuff you want!
Here are T-Track Installation Instructions
NOTE: Midsize T-Tracks not available yet!
DOES DECKED MAKE DRAIN PLUGS? ARE DRAIN PLUGS COMPATIBLE WITH MY DRAWER SYSTEM?
One of the coolest features of the Drawer System is that you can use your drawers as large traveling coolers. With our added drain plug accessory kit you can just park your truck on a flat surface, unscrew the plug, and let gravity do the rest. Once the water has drained, take a rag and wipe out any extra water, reinstall the plug, and you are ready to go!
DECKED drain plugs are compatible with full-size SHORT (64.5″ in length) Drawer Systems and midsize Drawer Systems. However, unless you are Kareem Abdul Jabbar, the drain plug location on our standard 6'6" bed system is out of reach. We missed that one in the design process. Unless you have 4′ long arms, you'll have a hard time reaching the plug to drain the water out of your drawer. Therefore we DO NOT recommend this accessory for Standard length systems.
Drain plugs are meant to be placed in the cab side/driver end of the Drawer System because pickup truck beds naturally drain toward the cab, not the tailgate. That is why our drain plugs are recommended to be placed cab side. Placing the drain plug in the tailgate end of the drawer may also cause it to drag on your tailgate when the drawer is loaded. Note: If you prefer, you can drill a small hole in the tailgate end of the drawers (there is a dimple to get your hole started) to create a simpler solution (but that will also create an opportunity for water intrusion).
For more questions, email us directly at service@decked.com.
Check out our Drawer System DRAIN PLUGS here.
I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO OR 2007 GMC SIERRA, I NOTICED THAT IN YOUR PRODUCT LIST THAT TWO 2007 SILVERADO/SIERRA’S SHOW UP. HOW DO I KNOW WHICH SILVERADO/SIERRA I HAVE AND WHICH DRAWER SYSTEM FITS MY TRUCK?
2007 was a transition year for Chevy and GMC, and as such, they produced old and new body styles in the 2007 model year with both a 5’9″ and 6’6″ bed. So, for a time, both body types were being sold as 2007 models.
If you have a 2-part headlight array and only modest body flare (see image), you have the older Silverado/Sierra, or “Classic” version. If this is the case, select the Drawer System SILVERADO 1999-2007 or SIERRA 1999-2007 Classic edition, bed length 5’9″ or 6’6″.
If you have a single-part headlight array with more significant body flare, (see image) you have the “new” 2007 version thus you will select the Drawer System SILVERADO 2007-Current or SIERRA 2007-Current, bed length 5’9″ or 6’6″.
DOES THE DECKED DRAWER SYSTEM FIT IN A FORD E-TRANSIT ELECTRIC VAN?
NOTE: The drawer system will NOT fit into the 2022+ Ford E-Transit Electric Cargo Van due to interference at the power panel.
CAN I WALK ON MY DRAWER SYSTEM?
Of course! However, we only recommend you walk along the fully supported areas, which include the center support/vert, or along the ammo cans where the c-channels run. The Drawer System can hold 2,000 lbs evenly distributed, which translates to 50 lb/sqft. Walking on unsupported areas without plywood or a mat laid down to distribute the weight can cause structural issues to your system over time.

WHAT TRUCKS WILL THE TOOL BOX FIT IN?

The optional telescoping step ladder is made from 6000 series aluminum.
IS THE DECKED TOOL BOX WATERPROOF?
The DECKED Tool Box is waterproof. The contents inside your Tool Box are guaranteed to be protected from the elements, car washes, and other extreme moisture events. If you do get moisture inside your Tool Box, you can drill a small hole in the base of your Tool Box in the provided divot holes. This will allow any standing water from the moisture/condensation to drain without having to remove your Tool Box.
Because it's molded not welded, you get a seamless lid and tub as well as overbuilt moisture-repelling, watertight architecture, which is sealed tightly when closed thanks to an EPDM lid gasket and channel. Anti-corrosion-treated steel and aluminum hardware make for long-lasting durability.

IS THE TOOL BOX COMPATIBLE WITH LADDER RACKS?
This will depend on the rack you have. Please email service@decked.com to confirm before placing your purchase.
IS THE DECKED TOOL BOX COMPATIBLE WITH A GOOSENECK OR FIFTH WHEEL?
Yes, as long as there is critical clearance for the Tool Box.
DOES THE TOOL BOX FIT WITH A DUAL REAR WHEEL TRUCK?
WITHOUT THE LADDER: The Tool Box is compatible with dual rear-wheel trucks.
WITH THE LADDER: For compatibility with the Tool Box ladder, a dual rear fender may or may not be compatible. If the measurement from the cab to the start of dually fender is 24" or less the ladder won't have room to deploy properly. (This is more likely on short-bed dually trucks vs. long bed dually trucks).
This Dual Rear Chevy is Compatible with the Ladder because the ladder doesn't interfere with the start of the dually fender:
These Dual Rear Wheel Ram Trucks are NOT Compatible because the dual rear wheel fender interferes with the ladder. The distance between the cab and the start of the fender is less than 24 inches.
WHY WON'T MY TOOL BOX LID CLOSE EVENLY?
If the lid on your Tool Box sticks up on one side or has difficulty catching both latches at once, it's probably become misaligned. You can easily correct this issue with no specialty tools required. Watch this video for instructions on aligning your Tool Box lid.
CARGOGLIDE
WHY IS THERE RESISTANCE WHEN SLIDING MY CARGOGLIDE?
If your CargoGlide isn't gliding like butter, loosen up the tailgate roller axle & nut. All you need is a 9/16" socket and 1/4" allen key and a quarter to half turn to free your CargoGlide to roll normally.
IS THE CARGOGLIDE COMPATIBLE WITH TACOMA AND TUNDRA TRUCKS?
CargoGlide is compatible with some composite beds. CargoGlide is compatible with Tacoma composite truck beds, but not 2022-current Tundras.
Note: CargoGlide is compatible with the all Tundras and Tacomas if installed with a DECKED Drawer System. Did somebody say combo?

IS CARGOGLIDE COMPATIBLE WITH A FORD TRUCK /W THE TAILGATE STEP AND HANDLE OR THE GMC MULTIPRO TAILGATE ASSIST HANDLE?
Yes. Make sure to check tailgate clearance before installation. Some tailgates don't lay flat when open, which will cause binding when extending the CargoGlide tray. General rule: the highest point on your tailgate when open must be less than 3/4" above your truck bed floor to ensure compatibility. Before drilling into your bed, test the fit according to our installation instructions.
CargoGlide 600 and CargoGlide 1000 feature height adjustability. CargoGlide 1500 and CargoGlide XLs have an available, easy-to-install spacer kits for current GMC/Chevy trucks known to have this issue.
Contact us with any questions at service@decked.com.
DO I NEED TO CHECK TAILGATE CLEARANCE BEFORE INSTALLING?
Yes. Make sure to check tailgate clearance before installation. Some tailgates don't lay flat when open, which will cause binding when extending the CargoGlide tray. General rule: the highest point on your tailgate when open must be less than 3/4" above your truck bed floor to ensure compatibility. IS CARGOGLIDE COMPATIBLE WITH THE FORD ONBOARD ELECTRICAL GENERATOR SYSTEM (THE PRO ONBOARD POWER PANEL)?
