Truckman has scooped the Aftermarket Award for its innovative truck bed storage solution, DECKED at the prestigious WhatVan? 2019 Awards.
The West Midlands-based company collected the award in front of an audience of hundreds of industry professionals at a glittering ceremony held at The Brewery in the City of London.
The WhatVan? Awards are renowned as the most-prized independent endorsements of excellence in the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) industry.
Winning the award is a significant honor for the innovative storage system DECKED, which was only introduced to the UK pick-up market by Truckman earlier this year.
Since its launch, DECKED has achieved OEM approval status for the Nissan Navara, Toyota Hilux and the Volkswagen Amarok, and is also available outside the approved programme for the Isuzu D-Max, Fiat Fullback, Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi L200 and Mercedes X-Class – in double cab and extra cab*.
It has gone on to become a valued storage solution for both commercial and leisure users, from tradespeople through to those in the agriculture industry and outdoor sports enthusiasts.
Designed and built in the United States, DECKED features two secure , full bed-length roll out drawers to provide ergonomic access to tools and equipment whilst also allowing full use of the truck bed. The system creates a raised deck with a galvanized steel sub-frame within the truck bed, which has a capacity to carry up to 1,000kg.
Extremely weatherproof, DECKED can be fitted to an open back pick-up. Manufactured using durable, 100 percent recycled, High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and includes integrated drainage channels to keep water away from drawer contents. Each drawer, which can carry equipment up to 100kg, opens at waist height creating ergonomic access to tools and equipment.
Mike Wheeler, Executive Chairman of Truckman, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to pick up the Aftermarket Award for DECKED. We are committed to offering innovative aftermarket accessories to the pick-up market and this award is a significant endorsement from one of the UK’s most respected automotive awards. DECKED is gaining popularity among pick-up users and, along with the support from OEMs that have given it approved-accessory status, this award will help grow its reputation further.”
