If you attended last year's Overland Expo West, you might be forgiven for thinking you'd seen it all. Yet again, Flagstaff came through again as truck lovers descended on the small city in search of a good time. From old Land Cruisers to flatbed conversions, teardrop trailers, and even full-on apocalyptic style rigs, there was something there to satisfy every overland fetish.
It's not all about the size of the rigs either. If you're just looking for that extra accessory to spice up your truck life, then a trip to Overland Expo will hit the spot. There were exhausts and skottles in all shapes and sizes, every overlander's dream come true. If you're that type that's into men or women in uniform, then the abundance of khaki shorts/high top hikers/wide brim hats will sound tantalizing. The event drew in 30,000+ people and the weather was almost perfect, with just enough rain on the last day to make everyone wet. The hardcore overlanders were prepared of course, and toughed out the last day in search of something special.
Our booth had some special guests with ambassador @CHIVASGETSLOST hanging out at the booth and showing people what's in his drawers.
@GRIZZLYFORGE was on hand to dish out the coffee until the hangovers disappeared.
AGE AIN'T NOTHING BUT A NUMBER
While most people love the newest trucks with the fanciest technology, sometimes it's the experienced ones that show you the best time. Some rigs are old enough to be your mom, but that's what makes them fun.
GAME RECOGNIZE GAME
Some rear ends are better than others. They know it, we know it, you know it. A tiny sampling of the DECKED out rigs we spotted in Flag.
FLATBED AND MONSTER CAMPERS
The biggest issue with flatbed rigs is there's no bed to drop a DECKED Drawer System into. Now that's just impractical! Consider this a wall of shame.
BRITISH HUMOR
They may serve food cold, beer warm, and have bad teeth, but it's hard to deny the appeal of a British accent. Here's the best from the Isle at Expo West.
BEST OF THE REST
There were so many rad vehicles at Overland Expo, it was hard to pick a favorite. Here's a whole bunch that we'd like to go home with.
We're stoked we got to shoot the breeze and spread the gospel of DECKED with so many other adventurers. Keep your eyes peeled and we'll see you on the road (or off)!
