In the air, upside down, with only one foot on the bike? That’s just a typical day on the back yard jumps for Bend, Oregon freerider Carson Storch.

This is Carson Storch

Episode 3 of the film series, “This Is Getting After It.”

If you know freeride mountain biking, you already know Carson Storch. If you don’t, let us introduce you: He’s a soft-spoken guy from Bend, Oregon — but there’s nothing soft about his riding. Take five and a half minutes out of your day to watch Carson do “dumb stuff on his bike.”

NO DIG, NO RIDE.

Carson might be famous for throwing huge 360s off cliffs at Redbull Rampage, but he spends just as much time moving dirt and building a venue for the next generation of mountain bikers to show off their talents.

Carson poses with his favorite shovel, in front of his backyard jumps. OK, we’ll let you on on a little secret: Carson may have used a slightly bigger shovel (a digger) to build these massive jumps.
IF HE’S NOT GRIPPING A BAR, HE’S PROBABLY HOLDING A SHOVEl.
If you want to be a pro, you gotta practice. This is why Carson Storch build a world-class jump park, seen here, in his back yard.
A TYPICAL BEND, OREGON BACK YARD.
Who needs elevation to make mountain bike jumps? Carson stacked multiple shipping containers, one on the other, as a high point to gain speed for his jumps. The stairs to the top look scary enough for us.
Think the stairs are SKETCHY? WAIT’LL YOU SEE THE JUMPS.
Clean bench, clean mind. Carson’s work bench is more dialed than a Times Square pay phone, circa 1987. And when he needs to move tools and gear around, he uses DECKED D-co Cases.
Where preparation meets opportunity.
How does Carson keep everything running? His trusty DECKED Drawer System. Brake pads, shocks pumps, lube, and rags are never far away when you’ve got DECKED.
YOU CAN’T BE CARSON, BUT YOU CAN BE DIALED LIKE CARSON.
