Digging Into The Craziest Mountain Biking Event On Earth
“Rampage.”
Say that word to a mountain biker. They’ll know what you’re talking about because, while there’s no world championship for freeride mountain biking, the Red Bull Rampage is about as close as it gets.
It’s a radically different event from most other top-level competitions in the sport. These athletes don’t just ride the course — they build it.
That’s right. Every athlete in the Red Bull Rampage has to figure out a way to build a rideable line down an insanely gnarly series of cliffs outside Virgin, Utah, using only hand tools and sandbags to build it. And then they’re expected to not only ride it, but probably throw in a backflip or two if they want to win.
We’re proud to sponsor two of the most badass riders at Rampage this year — plus another Rampage veteran and legend who’s won the whole shebang not once, but twice.
So follow along as the DECKED Crew heads out for a wild weekend at the Red Bull Rampage.
Women’s competition: Friday, October 17
DECKED Rider: Casey Brown
Men’s competition: Sunday, October 19
DECKED Rider: Carson Storch
LOOKING BACK ON 2024.
2024 was the first-ever women’s Red Bull Rampage competition, and DECKED athlete Casey Brown crushed it — climbing onto the podium for third place in this historic event.
Our athlete Carson Storch landed in 7th after sending a trademark 360 off a ludicrously tall cliff. Carson’s crew measured the drop at 60 feet from take-off to landing.
Kyle Strait kept up his legendary run of competing in every single Red Bull Rampage since he showed up to the first event as a 14-year-old in 2001. He took home 10th, but stole our hearts as the all-time GOAT.
And we had the honor of presenting the DECKED Digger Award for the best dig crew of the event, which went to 2024 winner Brandon Semenuk’s crew.
OUR ATHLETES FOR 2025:
Carson Storch
One of the heaviest hitters on two wheels, Carson’s been on the Rampage podium twice, and nabbed Best Trick in 2016 by throwing one of his trademark 360s off a literal cliff. We can’t wait to see what he’s got up his sleeve this year.
Casey Brown
Some call her “the godmother of freeride,” and for good reason. Casey founded a women’s-only event called Dark Horse out of her backyard jump line in Revelstoke, B.C. and turned it into one of the biggest events in freeride mountain biking. She made history by climbing onto the podium of the historic first Women’s Red Bull Rampage.
UPDATE: Unfortunately, Casey was injured on the hardest feature in her line during practice runs, putting her out of commission for the women’s finals. Sending a giant thank you to Casey and her dig crew from everyone at DECKED for the days and weeks of hard work that went into this. We wish Casey a speedy recovery and hope to see her stronger than ever in 2026.
Follow Along
DECKED will be onsite with the wildest crew on the mesa, including celebrity chef Brad Leone, pro skater David Gravette, and trophy truck champion Christopher Polvoorde. And, of course, the GOAT himself — Kyle Strait. This will be Kyle’s first time ever experiencing Rampage from outside the course tape, so follow along to hear his pearls of wisdom on the DECKED feed.
