In the off-road community, there’s this thing called the “driver mod.” It’s a term to express that, no matter the terrain or situation, a driver’s skill and experience beat out mods like lockers, lifts, and tires. Every. Single. Time.

We can’t think of a better example of the driver mod than professional off-road racer Christopher Polvoorde. But in case you paid attention in science class and need evidence, here you go: he placed 1st Overall in the 2025 SCORE Baja 1000, is the three-time defending champion of King of the Hammers Desert Challenge as of February 2026, and recently signed on as a Red Bull Athlete. It’s true that Christopher could be in the cockpit of a dumpster on roller skates and still beat anyone with a driver’s license, but he obviously likes things that go fast. So when Ford Racing approached him about a partnership and said, “pick a truck, any truck,” what did he choose? The Raptor R. Or, in Christopher’s own words: “The most badass truck you can buy straight off the dealership showroom.”

With a 5.2L V8 engine, Whipple supercharger, 10-speed automatic transmission, and Fox Dual Live Valve shocks to soak up high-speed washboard, this rock-solid ride was the obvious choice for a guy who racks up more than 50,000 miles a year. But while it comes ready-to-rip right off the lot, Christopher has a very particular set of needs.

To turn this Raptor R into a fully-functional chase truck, while maintaining its practicality as a daily driver, Christopher kept it simple and effective with a race radio, Starlink connectivity, Eibach springs, and Method wheels wrapped in Toyo tires. In the bed, his DECKED Drawer System keeps recovery gear, tools, and parts safe, secure, and organized from the trails of his Utah home to the backroads of Baja.

With Christopher’s other chase trucks sporting names like White Lightning, Red Rocket, and Cowboy, this truck’s CP94 Raptor moniker might feel a little dull. Rest assured, with Number 94 behind the wheel, this truck is anything but.
