They say that "less is more." Whoever “they” are clearly never laid eyes on this kei truck. In the world of custom rigs, there are builds that follow the rules, and then there are builds with absolutely zero intention of following the rules. This is the latter.

What was born as a modest, everyday-functional Japanese mini truck has grown into a purpose-built, over-the-top overland rig that demonstrates what happens when "why not?" becomes the plan. The goal was simple: build something entirely unique that the industry hadn't seen before. Not chasing trends—setting them. Or, in Brian’s words: “If it fit the build, we would add it on.”

Draped in Audi’s iconic Nardo Gray, this truck is an 11/10 on the modification scale. While the engine and drivetrain remain stock, almost everything else has been touched by high-end fabrication, from the custom-designed roof rack to bespoke upholstery.

Along with the rack system and hear-it-before-you-see-it remote-controlled train horn, one of the biggest conversation starters is the DECKED Drawer System. With Japanese mini trucks gaining traction in the U.S., Brian is asked everywhere he goes if his Midsize Drawer System is a JMT-specific DECKED product. It’s not, but with a custom-fabricated surround, it fits with OEM precision. Complete with a camp sink built into a DECKED Payloader bin, it’s a serious flex in a platform where every inch counts.

Where do you go when you’ve already hit 11? You go to 12. While the current build is technically complete, a spring 2026 collaboration is in the works to swap the rooftop tent for a custom-mounted option that, without spoiling the surprise, we will simply describe as “tactical.” It’s a move that will require heavy welding, serious fabrication, and a total disregard for the status quo.
